Desc: Bricoleurs: Directed by Hanna Volbeda. Bricoleurs make art installations using bottles, cement, tires, hay bales and anything they can find. These visionary art environments can be found out in the open space, in peoples' backyards, in the middle of the city or surrounded by nature. We visit several American bricoleurs who create big artistic landscapes using only their hands and simple tools, despite lack of money, time and support. The bricoleurs shape these objects into a vivid and interior language. However great their ambition is, these works of art are not always embraced by the immediate environment. As the artwork begins to deteriorate with time, it is up to the community to decide on their future. Some of these art installations are ultimately saved and restored for future generations. Like the artists themselves, the people involved in the restoration and preservation of the artworks often work with enormous enthusiasm and little financial resources. This film is an ode to fantasy in a lesser known America.
